Lovelove Films take to the High Road with Joss Stone.

Posted: September 2012

An independent Bournemouth-based multi-media production company, Lovelove Films LTD, has been making big waves in the entertainment industry. Recent successes include the Post Production and VFX (special effects) to Joss Stone’s latest music video, “The High Road”. The single, taken from her sixth studio album Soul Session Vol 2.

Lovelove Films were delighted at the opportunity to work with one of the UK’s most popular and enduring young female musicians, whose album makes a return to the format of her debut album, the multi-platinum The Soul Sessions, which was released in 2003 to critical and commercial acclaim and featured covers of many prominent soul and R&B artists from the last five decades.

The video is described as a fantasy Alice in Wonderland-esque trip through a surreal moonlight forest, culminating in Joss riding on the back of an elephant through the trees and playing chess with Death. Lovelove Films’ were commissioned by Joss Stone’s record label to provide post-production and visual effects. The video was completed in extremely tight turn around in which vast amounts of complex visual effects work were added to give it a magical, fantasy-like feel, such as turning the video from day to night, a notoriously difficult process which requires numerous time-consuming effects. Joss Stone was delighted with the work Lovelove films have done and stated “Lovelove have done a great job”.  Managing Director/Producer of Lovelove Films stated “The team at Lovelove were delighted to work on The High Road music video for Joss Stone, we are all huge fans she is a truly incredible British artist. We must have listen to the track a thousand times and we just Love it!

“The High Road” adds to Lovelove Films’ rapidly expanding portfolio of work, particularly in the American market, and shows great promise for the future for the company who are becoming a notable multi-media producerin the south. They have already worked on an innovative and immersive 360 degree music video experience for the Weymouth 2012 sailing events throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games, in collaboration with offbeat artist Momo:Tempo which receiving funding from Creative England and the European Regional Development Fund. As well as producing innovative interactive 2D/live action music videos for artists Gabby Young and vibrant band Yes Sir Boss earlier in the year.

Currently Lovelove Films are  developing a number of factual projects for major broadcasters alongside further music videos for various American  and British artists, showing Lovelove Films’ burgeoning success in the entertainment market both home and away.

Press Release: 'Uptight' Music video shot as a 'Short Film' by multi award winning production team Lovelove Films single out 27th June 2011 .

Posted: June 2011

Lauren Loretto is the next serious contender for the world of pop.

This sassy pop star has been described as a singing Lara croft, with her athletic body, energetic performances and velvety vocal tones and it is hardly surprising that she is receiving attention everywhere she goes. Laurens spends most of her days in a recording studio with arguably some of the top producers in the UK, Guy Chambers, Rob Davis and BMI producer Carrie Searley from UK POP.

Support for Lauren Loretto is growing daily; producers, promoters, publishers, clubs and radios are also starting to show great interest. Executives from film company, LoveLove Films are just one of the companies who have recently offered their expertise and support.

Managing Director of LoveLove Films, Georgina Hurcombe, approached Lauren to produce her first music video 'Uptight' and subsequently approached the multi award winning short film and advert Director Anit Bashar, to direct the video.

Lovelove Films put together an exceptional team of over 35 people to work on this innovative video including multil award winning director of photography Andrew Fleming and former BBC1 Eastender Art Director Lissett Laurie.

The Director of the music video Anit had some very ambitious narrative plans Involving a futuristic twist on a 1950s spy tale, creating an end product that is both unexpected and unusual for the more mainstream pop genre. The 'Uptight' video is a 4 minute mini blockbuster seeing our heroine Lauren battling a gang of 1950s style thugs in a bid to protect secret data. An adrenaline rush from start to finish, the 'Uptight' video is a thrilling ride of special effects and brilliant performances which perfectly compliments the finger tapping track.

By any standards LoveLove Films' latest music video 'Uptight' is an amazing piece of filmic ingenuity. Although despite being a fledgling business having to navigate an ever changing economic climate LoveLove Films has prevailed against all odds to produce an inventive, exceptional music video on a shoestring budget. Despite these obstacles, Managing Director Georgina Hurcombe gathered together an amazing team that would make any video producer go green with envy. From the colour grader from slum dog millionaire and world famous Technicolor to some fantastic contributions from past and present BU, AUCB and Southampton Solent students. The Uptight's team worked hard to provide a top quality video that any artist would be proud to star in.

Georgina Hurcombe MD of Lovelove Films states:

"'Its been a real journey and I think 'Uptight' is a real testament to what can be done with drive, passion and creative thinking. Despite the budget being low we found great support from not only the television industry such as Panalux, Technicolor and our crews, but also from fabulous students and graduates from the surrounding area and universities, Its amazing just how much talent there is in the South!"

This video is a visual delight having been shot in HD on a mixture of the RED ONE camera and the CANON 5D. Unlike more generic music videos (particularly club/pop videos) LoveLove Films combined cross platform skills to produce a high concept Music video with a real narrative structure.

The animation team who created the complex futuristic control room with Iron man influenced control panel were a mixture of past and present BU, AUCB and Southampton Solent university students who worked for months and perfected the animation to an exceptional standard.

2d Animator Barnaby Benza Gillett states:

"We were bought onto the Uptight project to fulfil the visual effects requirements for Lovelove Films , upon learning about the theme and setting, we became heavily enthusiastic and inspired. We had creative freedom to develop the idea, which is always a bonus; whilst focusing on the theme that the producer and director required, drawing influence from the recent Iron Man films, Minority Report and Tron Legacy. The intense pace kept our minds active and our creative juices flowing. As a team, we collaborated on visualising the creative layout of the cyberspace, satisfying our individual needs of expression. We were designated shots to composite with ideas that we had formed together and had many critiquing sessions to further develop our workflow and output. Working with Lovelove Films has been a inspiring and uplifting experience"

The 'Uptight music video will be released in the summer of 2011 in conjunction with her upcoming tour. Lauren will be kicking off the first leg of her European tour with well known chart topper Basshunter in June.

As well as producing Uptight , LoveLove Films find themselves growing from strength to strength in their fledgling year. Working on a range of projects, LoveLove Films cater for a wide array of clients from broadcast projects to corporate videos, adverts and web based media to factual television and short films. Recently making their mark in the top 15 entries in the Doritos 'King of Ads' campaign and featuring on T4, LoveLove Films have shown their ability to create fresh and vibrant ideas for a mainstream market.

With their ambitions set high, MD Georgina Hurcombe and her team aim to take the media world by storm, however, that's not to say that they have forgotten their roots. A Bournemouth University graduate herself, Georgina always ensures that graduates and students are integrated into her growing team, giving them a chance to learn the ways of the industry, contribute fresh ideas and gain experience that will be invaluable in their future careers and the growth of the company. 2011 looks set to be a fantastic year for LoveLove Films with many upcoming projects in the pipeline and with Lauren Loretto's 'Uptight' under their belt, they've proved their worth as serious contenders in the ever-changing world of media production.

LoveLove Shooting at The Wine Show

Posted: November 2010

On the 13th of November, all for the good of Rob and Ra Drink the World Dry (honest), the team gathered at London Olympia Masterchef Live featuring The Wine Show to shoot Presenter Rob Buckhaven hosting at the Drinks Tasting Theatre as part of the The Wine Show.

Olympia was packed and all of Rob's masterclasses and talks were sold out. Huge crowds of people had gathered to hear Rob's words of wisdom and, hosting alongside Oz Clarke, Rob yet again proved his knowledge and experience in exploring the tastes and aromas of some of the world's finest wines.

The LoveLove team also interview Oz who had nothing but praise for the younger expert who he was sharing the stage with. Clara joined the team later in the afternoon to watch Rob.

The afternoon was rounded off with a little light relief –some interesting food tasting as well as some chocolate covered marshmallows and strawberries. Although Production assistant Sarra was still recovering from eating a very hot chill pepper appropriately named a 'Satan's Shit'

A great day was had by all and LoveLove got some fantastic shots of the pair enjoying their London lives. We'll just be sad to see the shooting of Rob and Ra coming to a close but were excited to get working on completing the edit.

Rob and Ra Drink the World Dry Shoot.

Posted: November 2010

It’s 6pm on a wet and windy Tuesday and the crew of the Rob and Ra shoot, are stranded aboard a P&O ferry, circling the port , waiting for a tug boat and ‘enjoying’ the lights of Dover for the umpteenth time. While the stars of the show are relaxing with a glass of wine in the bar, producer Georgina and production assistant Sarra are securing their place next to the life jacket cupboard in case a Titanic style incident should occur.

It’s been a long few days for the team who have battled a barrage of unwelcoming dogs, negotiated the winding roads of the French countryside and squeezed 6 people and all their kit into the crew car in order to shoot the show. Faced with angry protesters alighting piles of tyres in Rouen, fuel rationing and the only in-car entertainment being the Trivial pursuit iPhone app and a Seal CD, we finally arrived in Bretenoux.  There have been giggles and glasses of wine as the team roam the South of France, searching to improve their knowledge of wine making and more importantly – tasting. It’s been an enjoyable and adventurous trip which provided us with fabulous Chateaux setting for the first episode. A great time was had by all and it could not have been such a success without everyone’s hard work, the hospitality of our tour guide Jerome and the six course meal his wife Sylvie provided.

Despite the unexpected and adverse weather as well as the language barrier, director On Bashar and director of photography Mark Found returned home with some beautiful shots of the rolling French hills, hilarious banter between Rob and Clara and some great information on where some of our favourite bottles of vino comes from.

MD judge at the British Horror film festival

Posted: November 2010

Over the Halloween weekend, Managing Director, Georgina was asked to help judge the British Horror Film Festival. Running from midday to midnight, the festival looked set to provide an array of shocks and scares as some of the front runners in horror battled it out in front of the judges.

Amongst some of the entries were 'Black Death' starring Sean Bean, the Aussie entry 'Needle' whose director John V. Soto flew all the way from Australia to be at the festival and 'Voodoo Lagoon'. Scooping the most awards however it was 'Devil's Playground' starring Brit favourite, Danny Dyer which proved that the zombie genre is still alive (well, undead actually) and kicking by picking up the Best Film award.

Georgina had a frightfully good time and being thrilled (pun intended) to have been asked to be part of the judging team at the festival, she always knew that her university dissertation all those years ago, 'How social anxieties of the 1960's to the present day have been reflected in horror movies' would come in handy!

'I Wont Go' Officially Selected for Brancharge Film Festival Jersey

Posted: September 2010

Come and see I Wont go at the Fabulous Brancharge film festival! We were there last year and we are delighted to have been selected for this year programe of documentaries.

http://www.branchagefestival.com/

I Wont Go receives rave reviews at Ediandocs and in The Edinbrugh Reporter Newspaper - We Loved every minute of the festival!

Posted: September 2010

Source: http://www.theedinburghreporter.co.uk/2010/09/i-wont-go-a-documentary-film/

"The film was shown on Thursday evening and it made a beautiful start to Edindocs.

The story centres round Oli, an elderly woman living alone in a large house falling apart at the seams, full to bursting with all her stuff and inhabited by her pet dog and a pony called Baby. Georgina Hurcombe used to visit the former headmistress for tuition in Maths and English after school when she was at primary school. Oli taught many local children in her post-retirement years. Hurcombe then went to study film-making and realised that Oli would be a good subject for such a film. It has taken about eight years to bring the film to the big screen, so this has been a long time in the making.

This is a determined woman who was a great beauty in her day, something which shines through in her love of clothes and make-up. Despite her infirmity Oli lives on her own with minimal care from occasional care workers. This film points to a different way of living out your final days than simply being shipped off to the nearest nursing home. Having no family is perhaps an advantage in this particular case. The film is beautifully composed, and the audience was captivated by it. Hurcombe’s website www.lovelovefilms.com may give you further information."
